The model started out modeling, however once she was recognized internationally, she decided to try acting. Her first as an actor in 1995 when she appeared on the television series Baywatch Nights. Voice acting is another job she does. She voiced the character for an animated film adaptation of Batman Beyond Return of the Joker. Harmon took the decision in early 2000s that she would only be working on movies, and to stop doing television.
