Zoe-perry
Perry was born in Chicago to actors Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. The character Jackie Harris was played by her mother in each of the two episodes she appeared on Roseanne. She did not explore acting as a profession after reaching adulthood because her parents were afraid of the negative consequences stress can cause. Perry acknowledged that she was not at ease in the stage during high school, but started performing as a means to connect with new people at Northwestern University after switching from Boston University. Perry left for New York, where she landed small roles in series such as Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Home sickiness led Perry home to California which was where theatre jobs were in demand. The Other Place was performed by her and her mother on Broadway in 2013 She appeared in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winner Anna Christie, along with Kevin McKidd. This was staged at West Los Angeles' Odyssey Theatre Ensemble. Perry starred in nine episodes in 2016 of ABC's drama The Family. Perry was a regular character in the ABC drama about politics Scandal which starred her father. She played the role of a younger Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) in Young Sheldon. This spin-off show of CBS's The Big Bang Theory was another portrayal by her younger mother. Despite the fact that she has a connection with her family to the character she received the role via an audition.
